Frequently Asked Questions

Do you accept health insurance?

I don’t currently accept health insurance. I am planning to accept payments from HSAs and FSAs in the next phase of building out my business.

Is tipping expected?

Nope! I do not accept tips. It’s easier for everyone if the sticker price is the whole story.

This is my first massage. What will it be like?

First, welcome! I’m glad you’re here. To start, you’ll answer a few questions on the intake form before the session - it’s important for me to know about things like recent injuries or surgeries that may affect the massage.

When you arrive in the office, I’ll check in with you about how you’re feeling that day and what you’d like me to focus on. While I know a good bit about human bodies, you are the expert in your body, and I want to know what your goals are for the session.

When it’s time to get started, I’ll leave the room to wash my hands and give you some privacy to get on the table. You’ll disrobe to your level of comfort and get on the table under the sheet and blanket. Many people keep their underwear on, some people fully disrobe, and some people keep most or all of their clothing on. Any option is fine with me; I just want you to be comfortable.

I’ll knock and ask if you’re ready before I come back in the room. You’ll be draped with the sheet and blanket the whole time, and I’ll only uncover the part of your body that I’m working on. I’ll check in about pressure occasionally. Other than that, I’ll take cues from you - if you want to talk, I’m happy to listen or chat, or let you enjoy some quiet time on the table. I’ll massage you for the full amount of time you booked (assuming you showed up on time!), focusing on anything you mentioned during the intake, or requests you bring up during the session.

When it’s time to wrap up, I’ll step out of the room again to wash my hands and let you get dressed. I’ll collect payment if it wasn’t handled in advance, optionally schedule your next appointment, and let you float on out!
